February is National Heart Month, the perfect time to learn about your risk for heart disease and the steps you need to take now to help your heart. Residents at Butler learned some heart health ideas from Jessica Weseman, a nurse from Good Shepherd Hospice. We enjoyed the information and really enjoyed the heart healthy snacks - strawberries, blueberries and dark chocolate... oh my! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and treats, Jessica!~ ...

The Caring Hands Award was initiated in 2019 as a way to recognize employees who go above and beyond everyday. Nominations are accepted from residents, family members, coworkers, volunteers, etc. The award is given quarterly to the employee who has been chosen by Medicalodges Board of Directors from the nominations presented.
If you know an employee who is deserving of this recognition consider nominating them. The link below will take you directly to the nomination form - or you can ask the administrator of the facility for a form that can be emailed or faxed to the number listed.

The Polar Plunge is an annual event that takes place throughout the state to raise money for Special Olympics Kansas. Rosie West, Executive Director of New Hope Services is always up for the coool challenge along with several New Hope staff members (pictured, Sandy Koontz, Austin Koontz, Duane Vaughn and Chevy Peters). Thank you guys for taking the plunge for such a great cause - and it looks like you had a lot of fun!
